Aljunied flea and cleanser reviews!

Hellooooooo, we’ve all been super busy recently cos of Ma3querade going to regular fleas (Changi) and new flea spots e.g. Aljunied. I guess we’ve really come a long way since our first flea…and the early times when Ma3querade was first born! Now we’ve quite a number of regular customers getting their skincare products from us :)

And, to make your whole shopping experience with us a happier one, we’ve decided to move from confusing livejournal (commenting and whatnot) to a domain entirely belonging to us! www.ma3querade.com *beams with pride* is under construction right now! Yay yay yay yay. We’re all extremely excited bout it. Elaine’s doing the web and the rest of us are really busy with fleas too and sourcing for more amazing suppliers from all over the world for you :D Hopefully our domain ‘ll be born before 2012!

Anyway, we went to a flea at Aljunied, block 4A if I remembered correctly last Sunday (6^th Nov). This flea’s so special cos all four of us were there lololol. It was really early on Sunday morning and we were all yawning on the way there…got our food at the MRT station and rushed all the way down to the flea area. Well, hard work of course, but for the sake of our little business we really don’t mind…Hopefully we gained more awareness of great masks/skincare products at such un-findable-in-singapore prices :D

Btw, talking about improvement, we’re now so used to going to fleas that we have our own little chairs, tables, table cloths, knowledge of how to put our products, and exactly how much products to bring! We even had a new slimming brand with us that day, since we had 4 people ;) For the babes who want to get svelte figures. Brand’s “Svelte Lady”, if you were curious!

A closer look at the collagen hydration cloth mask and red wine essence eye mask. Both have been raved about by our customers so far! I personally would really recommend getting the eye masks we have in stock coz like sasa/beauty language sells the same thing and you get it cheaper at our web! Plus free normal postageeeee.

Our best-seller that day! And if you notice, this mask comes with 45g of essence. WHICH IS ALOT. Cos like usually masks come with like 25g of essence. You can check out your own... and 45g of holy gel-like essence is reaaaaallly a good deal + your mask doesnt dry up that quickly. Plus can apply on neck/arms/another body parts for hydration somemore! Worth or not!!!

Poor fel was really tired out~ As you can see, two booths that day! One side for ma3querade items as usual and the other side for svelte lady's. Cos we had 4 ppl that day, we brought both our tables along. Display more, more business what right. lololol

Svelte Lady's products!!!
Ok lah actually its just a new brand ma3querade got in. SLIMMING productssss. We had with us that day, a special blend of herbal slimming oil, grapefruit slimming scrub and the most effective one of all has to be the seaweed mud body wrap! see pix see pix:

First up, the slimming oil...placed in a little box to protect each and everyone of them! Looks atas also right :x LOL. but yes, this is a very high end product btw, all the way sourced from Australia!! Confirm effective one! Seaweed mud clay mask for slimming and detoxifying! This, was from Europe! And the most effective of all. Of course要美就要付出代价 so this product is actually also the most ma fan(troublesome) one out of the three... have to mix with water to form a paste, apply and wrap with cling wrap. Just like slimming centres, except this time is DIY ah lololol

My personal favourite cos it smells damn good and feels absolutely cleansing + got slimming effect somemore! Grapefruit slimming scrub! :D Its also a Europe product. Totally worth trying cos its actually like what the slimming centres use to cleanse before they apply the mud masks/slimming creams with cling wrap to enhance efficacies of the products!! Btw, this product is even more effective as a body wrap. scrub already onto dry skin then wrap with cling wrap. IT BECOMES WARM LORRRR. Like totally unexpected cos grapefruit what right, how to heat up...but YES, totally had the slimming effect. Instant clarifying of skin somemore. We even set up a station to let the customers try our the grapefruit scrub since it has the instant effect magic ;) Cos we understand how some of you really dont enjoy like buying new products without trying them, so yes! Here we are, again, trying to provide as good customer service as possible ^^

As the flea went on...we got bored D: Cos the people suddenly all go for lunch or something at 2+ so the crowd really went down! Hencewith therefore we also started playing arounndddd~

*BHB*, looking at your own products as if we're the customers... thats what we were doing all the time actually cos like it really attracts the crowd over to see what you're seeing hahaha

Thats all for our fleaaaaaaaaa. So, continue-ing with the skincare story, of course, as skincare shop owners, we really take time and effort into sourcing for cheaper and higher quality skincare products. Of course also have to try the current products in the market right! So yessss, i'll be reviewing a few products i bought around 2 weeks ago. :D Both are facial cleansers, btw i have like 7 facial cleansers. so even if i use comparing, i can totally find out which ones are more worth buying :p hehehe, now to share with you all....

#1 HELLO KITTY COLLAGEN CLEANSER.

I wanted to get this cleanser quite long ago, cos its like not very pricey, $12.40 at Watsons...ok lah, actually *to be honest* its because of the cutesy packaging hehehehe. What!!!! I have my bimbo moments also okkk -defensive- But just look at it! CUTE ENOUGH OR NOT! :D

Supposedly, it can also remove make up. But i still think that make-up removers are there for a reason. And should be used before the cleansing step so...yes, im just gonna rate it on its facial cleansing properties.

Still have hello kitty as model, teaching you how to wash your face ok!!! Mad loveeeee the graphics and the entire design. AND the smell! Its smells of apple but its just a very light smell so yeah you'd generally smell like a cute apple after usage :D

My thoughts on this product:
Wellllll, it wasn't as un-effective as i thought it would be. Cos its packaging made it look like a cheapskate cleanser which was produced just for the hello kitty lovers..but no! It was quite functional actually. Cleanses quite well. But i kinda think it didnt do a good job on the hydrating collagen part. There're actually 4 of the cleasers in the hello kitty series and i chose the collagen one cos my skin is like sort of the more dry type, so i wanted it to be more hydrating instead of cleansing to make it more dry! :X But other that that i guess it was relatively okay...

p.s. surprisingly right, my bro likes it alot! Maybe guys nowadays go for like apple smells to lure the lil girls LOL.

#2 HIMALAYA HERBALS CLEAR COMPLEXION WHITENING FACIAL WASH

I totally have something for whitening products :x obviously cos im like not very fair... :(:(:( so i bought this!

Saffron supposedly (by google) enhances skin moisture level somemore :D

Admittedly, the hello kitty cleanser wins hands down in smells and looks! But...himalaya herbals is forever smelling of herbs what! how to compare with apple...

Anyway, this was really not a bad product. I suspect i'd never be able to finish using it cos its a really light cleanser and only a LITTLE bit is required to lather your whole face+ nece+ collar bone area (in bath) So yeah, quite worth the price! I kinda forgot the price but its somewhere around $10! Quite suitable for daily use cause its really mild on the skin and suitable for slowly but surely kind of improvement on your facial complexion :)

Anw, some pix with the cutesy cleanser ;) Cos i just got my new iphone cover, which is COINCIDENTALLY hello kitty-inspired also...and COINCIDENTALLY yet again(Yes, i swear it wasnt on purpose), that i was wearing a hello kitty night dress :X LOLOL. Don't judge! Its really mad comfy ^^

RANDOM: As im typing this right, its actually 3:43am on 17 Nov 2011. And im flying off to US with a transit at HK at 8:05am later woohoo. Gonna shop like some mad girl over there, hopefully everything's affordable and prettayeeeee.

I heard that F21, Zara, Coach, Burberry, M.A.C, O.P.I and lotsa electronic gadgets are totally like at discounted prices over there!

Orange Thimble

Hi all! How have you guys been?

Its been hectic for Jamdancewow this few weeks, studies for Valerie, work for Felicia, new internet drama for Elaine and I.

But of course, we will still continue to bring you good food from all over singapore:)

We had a random meet up 2 weeks ago to visit Orange Thimble at Tiong Bahru area for some HDB tai tai session:)The overall experience was awesome and we really love the ambience:)

When we first step in, we got a little pressurized by the quiet environment because it means that we got to lower our already loud voice .And we were quite lost because we did not dare to explore the place. But the staff in the shop were very friendly and they recommend us to take the seats at the backyard as it was more cozy and comfortable:)They suggested the popular dishes to us and we really love it. Except Valerie, she sees it as Junk Food cos she don't think its enough to fill her hungry stomach. I think the portions are just right, but maybe too little if you are looking for a full meal:)

I think its a good place for people to relax and enjoy the sub-urban quietness.

i will definitely go back another time, bring along my favorite Vivi magazine and laze there the whole day, i am sure the owner won't mind:):)

My end-of-year exams are coming like, in 6 days! Yes I know rightttt, that’s not even a week! But anyway I and the rest have been up to some funny stuff HAHA. (I know!! I should be studying. But I’m too fun loving to let them enjoy the fun without me!)

By the way, we’ve a brand new group name: Jam.Dance.Wow! :D In Chinese, its 简单话 Jian1 Dan1 Hua4. Hehehehe, we’re lame yes yes yes but it’s a cool name righttt! Next time we can be searched on youtube as jamdancewow. Woohoo! Although we only have one video up on youtube now, subscribe subscribe subscribe to our channel! So…if y’all don’t know us personally, you’d probably not know that we also own an online mask shop (Ma3querade!) :D:D:D We decided to invest in masks, cuz we thought that masks are really what people who’re in their older teens/ early twenties currently need! For us, especially for myself, I use it on a regular basis and yessss, you’d have a blemish-free face! So, we decided to bring in the very special masks that we’re currently in love with: jelly masks! Especially the soya jelly masks.

They have the same effect as SK-II masks (which are priced at around $20++ to $40 odd), and, we being nice people (ah-hem *coughs*) bring in the masks cause we wanna use it at supplier price too~ So, we don’t earn much from you guys when you make your purchases! The soya bean mask is really a must-try!!!!!!!!!!!! I don’t know how else I can emphasize my point, but it’s honestly the best mask I’ve tried!!

#2 Xinyao performance!

I wrote this one week before the performance!

Omg I’m so excited about it! Cos I’ve been like studying and doing nothing other than shopping and studying recently and I miss performing so much! I think it’s the passion working on me. Or maybe it’s the addiction towards performing working up. Btw performing chances are given to us by Imagine Music SG and TCR Music Station! I really appreciate every chance that’s given to me, because I actually learn different things from every single performance. And from every performance, more experience and confidence is earned! Can’t wait for 17^th September! *exciteddd*

Allen, Fengyi and me were be the performers from Imagine Music SG for the night, bringing a total of four xinyao songs to the audience! For those who’re curious, 我的朋友我的同学,让全世界起舞,晨的脚踪 & 我们是最好的朋友! All four are were very popular and famous songs in the 80s-90s. And we’re extremely honoured to be able to perform on the same stage as local veterans (xinyao singers)!

#3 We’re going for our first online singing competition! :D
(One week before the recording too!)
Its gonna be soooo fun! Actually we already planned to do some covers together just for fun’s sake…but now, there’s such a great opportunity for us to share our passion with a greater audience! I’m really hoping y’all will like what we’ve done!! :D The competition is called “I just wanna sing!” / “我就是爱唱歌!”. You guys can check us out on xinmsn.com/sing!

We’re gonna give it our best shot of course, hopefully it’ll be nice. But it’s our first time singing together as Ziploc-traffic actually, so don’t be too harsh on us :(!!! No lah, just saying but actually we accept comments extremely well! Please give us your honest honest comments!

Okaaay so actually we’re supposed to have known whether we got in Top 12 or not, but apparently no news so far! We’re taking it really optimistically, e.g. No lah judges haven’t finished watching :S But I’m actually really quite worried hehehe. We had so much fun recording it, we can't wait for our next cover! :D:D:D The NGs and fun behind the scenes were actually much more fun to watch than the real thing itself :p

Ma3querade First Flea

Hi Guys!

This few weeks have been very fruitful for us because we have been going to Fleas to promote our Mask. Its the first time we ever set up a stall in Flea for Ma3querade and it is also the first ever time i set up my own stall!

I do have mixed feelings for it because its actually rather tough( no air-con, no fan, no comfortable chairs) but its really fun as well with the company of Valerie and Felicia:)We were really unprepared and disorganized cause we did not know what to expect from our first flea. We had tables made by shoe racks and plastic boards(i know it's retarded-.-), table cloth that were supposedly a bathroom mat and no canvas to prepare us for rainy days. And the Oh-So-Fine weather played us out and started to rain! After observing the other vendors, we realized dat we had so much to learn. Canvas for rainy days, portable chairs to sit, and foldable tables that are really convenient compared to our shoe rack table-.-

Yes! look at our pathatic shoes rack table!

And because we were going on a low budget, i had to approach a food stall aunty at the coffee shop to spare us a foldable table to display our products!(i practically gave a helpless look and blinked my close-to-tearing eyes)

But all went well with nice humans buying our mask. and our tagline of the day? The sales was so-so but i really enjoy singing in the rain with the girls to prepare ourselves for the Channel U competition.Oh yes! please please support us for the competition!

My First KL Trip~

Hello dears~ After so many years, yes!! I'm back to blogging~ its nice to share my thoughts and great stuffs with you peeps~

I just came back from my KL trip during aug, it's my first trip to KL, and i was so eggcited abt it! I was helping out for a movie production 'We Not Naughty' by our local director Jack Neo, which will be broadcasted next year 2012 during CNY! And most importantly, our Roy Li Feihui laoshi is part of it! ^^And many other artistes including local XinYao singers will be acting in it too! So do show your support for our very own local movie ~!! :D

Thou its more like a 'work' trip, but i still very much enjoyed it! I have some great food to share~

OLD TOWN WHITE COFFEE – from Malaysia

Woots~ I went to the outlet at Sungei Wang for breakfast, the food are AWESOME max!

Saw the chicken prata, it looks so small, different from the normal prata we eat, that’s y wanna try it! ^^ I.m a curry and prata lover! The breakfast set is so fulfilling too!

Love all the different choices of loti from OLD TOWN! Yums Yums~ I have OLD TOWN breakfast for 2 consecutive days! LOL

We do have a few outlets in Singapore, anyone tried it before? Wonder if they have the same awesome food choices as Malaysia? Haha, shall try it some day!

Oh, you know what I’ve found? The long lost memories… A&W the bear! whee~ Rmb still seeing it when I was in primary school, I thought it vanished! So happy to see it in KL! I hope it will come back to Singapore cos their food are nice neh! Miss their specialty drink, the ROOT BEER Float~

I tried their Chicken fingers, wow! Its much nicer than ‘M’ nuggets, seriously! Am missing it already.. Can someone deliver it for me from Malaysia? PLSS~~ T.T

Malaysia is well known for their 路边摊 and durians! During my trip this time, I have been eating a lot of different kinds of durians, and its sooo much tastier and cheaper than Singapore! The coffee shop beside the Pearl International Hotel I’m staying, their rojak and fried bean curd is so damn nice can! The rojak taste is different from ours and the auntie replace YouTiao with her home made cracker, tats the nicest part and the BBQ beancurd skin is crisppy, I like! So sad they din have it here. Opps, pardon me that I dun have the awesome food pics, but I’m sure you’ll find great food all over Malaysia! Hee~

Drooling anyone? Ha.. It’s indeed a memorable trip for me. Next time I shall share with you the good and affordable products I’m using! See ya then!
